It’s school holidays, and as I’ve mentioned yesterday, we’ve been crazy busy at the moment. We’ve been doing a lot of house hunting and excitingly, have made a deposit on a beautiful place.
Our move will involve changing towns, which will mean we won’t feel so isolated or bored. I will also have my scenic walks I’ve missed for so long! We’ve made two trips to the town our new home is in, and on the way home the second time, we stopped in at Gundagai. We live so close to this town, but hadn’t yet paid a visit to the dog on the tuckerbox!
My clenched teeth in this shot should give you some idea of how freezing it was! Our kids didn’t seem bothered by it at all.
At the tuckerbox tourist stop, was this little apple stand. It had no-one serving. In place of a human, was this sign. It’s a bit like those self-service checkouts at Woollies, but with more of an honesty system.
In my best Steve Irwin impression, would you take a look at the size of these fellas??
These apples were insanely cold, juicier than should be allowed and the sweetest and freshest we’ve ever tasted. Our kids greedily clutched them to their mouths in the car and devoured like their lives depended on it.
As for the house we’ve bought? Well, you’ll just have to wait and see, won’t you? Also, in other news, I need to brag for a moment. Missy 11 recently was given an offer into a selective school! Very proud to say that she got in 100% on her own merits, there was no tutoring, no hothousing, no Tiger Mom-ming. She did do a minimal amount of practice exams, though. So proud of her and everything she’s acheived over the last 11 years.

lovely part of our country, i grew up in Cooma not so far away but ooh so cold brrrrrrrrrrr well done miss 11 exciting times ahead.
I keep meaning to check out Cooma, Linda! So many places we’ve yet to explore. And we’re so excited about our daughter’s news.

it was a nice town to grow up in, however i haven’t been their for along time over 10 years i left when i was 16 because funny enough it was too quiet for me , we’ve lived in Newcastle for 16 years and i often miss the quiet of the country but don’t think i could live away from the ocean now.Their are some great little towns down that way waiting to be explored.
I grew up on the coast, funnily enough, Linda! Found that too quiet. I think you hit a certain age in your youth that makes you go explore, get life experiences, huh?
I do miss the ocean dreadfully where we are now, but I feel as though our next town is going to make up for that. There be snow;)

It sounds like you all had a lot of fun. Those apples look so delicious, I wish I had one for myself! Also, congratulations to Missy! That’s a fantastic achievement!

We had a ball, Felicia:) I was pretty excited yet shell-shocked at the house deposit side of things, because we’ve waited so long to find the right place, and fortunate that someone wants to buy our house, as is! How lucky is that??
I wish I could send you an apple, but it might lose its appeal by then, huh? They are great.
Thanks for the congrats too, it’s so great to get all this good news at once.
